Jesus First Thirty Years

Updated: Sep 19, 2024

REALIZE THAT EVERYTHING IN THE BIBLE IS TRUE, BUT NOT EVERYTHING TRUE IS IN THE BIBLE.

The following will give us a glimpse of Jesus' first thirty years of his life.

Jesus is born. We know this story. But we must remember that Jesus is a Jew.

The importance of blessings as he grows up in a loving home.

According to Jewish tradition, after everyone comes home from the evening Sabbat service at the synagogue every Friday night, they gather around the table for Sabbath dinner. After dinner, Joseph lays his hand on Jesus’ head and blesses him with the priestly blessing. This continues with his brothers and sisters.

Since Jesus was born and for the following thirty years, he received the Father’s Blessing from Joseph every Friday, as did his siblings.

At age thirty, his ministry started when he was baptized and received the Holy Spirit's anointing. From then on, he became the one who gave the blessing.

The stories of him blessing the wine, the fish, and the loaves and how they multiplied are well known, as are his blessings to the people. Jesus' last act as he ascended into heaven was blessing the people.

At the start of his ministry, Jesus is with his disciples. He gives them the Father’s Blessing on Friday after the evening meal, and the blessings don’t stop.

According to the Jewish Sages, there is a tradition of prefacing the blessing with the words, "May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh."

This is because, unlike Jacob's other children and grandchildren, only Ephriam and Manasseh were born in Egypt. They grew up far away from the influence of Jacob and the rest of the family. Ephraim and Manasseh were surrounded by pagan Egyptian culture (similar to the woke culture today). Despite this environment, they stayed true to the faith of their ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The same can be said of Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, and Leah, who, unlike their husbands, were faithful to God despite their upbringing.

People often say, "I want to be more like Jesus." If so, start blessing your family individually with the priestly blessing and incorporate the Sages' preface.

Do it weekly on Friday and even call them on the phone if not at home, but anytime is excellent.

Numbers 6:23-26

May Yahweh bless you and protect you.

May Yahweh make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.

May Yahweh look with favor on you and give you peace.

God said that in this way, they would pronounce My name over the people, and I would bless them.

Please do this to your family, starting now! Also, bless our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
