These are not just stores. They are life events.
This story of Jacob, the Patriarch, and his son Joseph illuminates the importance of the blessing.
Jacob hadn’t seen his son for about 26 years; he thought he was dead. He walks in and sees Joseph and two boys standing behind him.
The first thing Jacob did was ask. “Who are these?” Joseph replied, “These are your grandsons.” Jacob immediately said, “Bring them here, and he blessed them. He knew the power and importance of the blessing.” Genesis 48:8.
If it had been one of our sons or daughters and thinking they had been dead for over 20 years, we would have asked, "What happened to you? " But he didn’t; he went over and blessed his grandsons.
He knew the power of blessings, which started with Abraham blessing his dad, Isaac, and then Isaac blessing him.
From personal experience, he knew the blessing sent light into the darkness, showed love to the receiver, and increased what they put their hands to.
The patriarchs released God’s blessings upon their children by laying their hands on them and speaking the blessings.
This continues with Jesus, who shows us that we can bless not only people but also things like food, with the examples of the wine, the fish, and the loaves.
These life events must continue today. We should carry on the tradition of blessing our family, country, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, thereby maintaining the continuity of our rich religious heritage.
Remember, God can command His blessing on all you set your hands to. So, let's approach each day with hope and expectation for the divine blessings that await us.
Do it weekly on Friday, if possible, but anytime is excellent.
Numbers 6:23-26.
May Yahweh bless you and protect you.
May Yahweh make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
May Yahweh look with favor on you and give you peace.
God said that in this way, they would pronounce My name over the people, and I would bless them.
Please do this starting now!
